We visited Powell in the summer of 2020. The recreation center with the enclosed pool is fantastic! The housing prices are still relatively low and you can still go to Billings for tax free shopping.

Bozeman and Montana...ruined by liberals< - 3/4/2021
My mother remarried and we left Bozeman in 1967. I was hoping to return to Bozeman in my retirement, but the entire region has been Californicated in the extreme. Housing is very expensive and wages are still very low. New inhabitants think Bozeman is quite nice, but that is because they are used to the hot water like a frog getting ready to boil. The Western Cafe is still there but everything else is gone except overcrowded Bridger Bowl. We still have a place on Hebgen Lake outside of West Yellowstone, but I would not invest more money nor dreams in the Gallatin Valley.
