Hermosa Beach, CA
Summary of Hermosa Beach -
10/13/2007My wife and I have lived in Hermosa for two and half years with our two daughters ages six and two. Here is a list of the pros and cons of Hermosa.
Pros:
Weather is nearly perfect year round (if you like the sun/70 degrees)
Schools are about as good as it gets for California
Families are on the rise
Most everything is within walking distance
Cons:
Lots of tourists, which means you must always keep an eye on your kids/important things
Very expensive housing/cost of living!!!
Most parents are older (40 years plus with new borns or pregnant)
Nearly everyone has a nanny b/c most moms can't handle raising own children
Meter/Permit parking almost everywhere
No yards or they are very very rare
Lots and lots of superficial people
Not a good place for dogs
Everyone is always busy and/or in a hurry, life goes by pretty fast here
Aurora, CO
Question about Aurora, CO -
8/30/2006Does or has Aurora had a water shortage? Does it have lots of trees? Can anyone recommend any other nice places besides Aurora that I should look into before visiting? I have heard that Boulder has some nice areas as well as Fort Collins. I am looking to move myself, my wife and our two daughters away from California and West L.A. We have heard nothing but good things about Colorado from friends and we are looking to visit soon. Please help:)
Franklin, TN
Moving to Franklin from Los Angeles -
4/10/2006I am interesting in moving my family to Franklin, TN. I know the education is good, what is the weather like? Is it really hot in the summer, cold in the winter, does it rain all the time, is it humid? It seems to be much more affordable then L.A., but I'm really hoping that it has trees and mountains.
