Still not a bad place -
4/21/2006Wimberley is to Texas what Colorado is to the United States. It incorporated in 2000 and is still having growing pains. It still remains a great place to live (close to Austin 35miles & San Antonio 55 miles) and or retire. It was better 20 years ago when they would let your kids charge candy at the grocery store. From one stop light in 1985 to 5 today, things are changing. Best schools within a broken system. New city government is antigrowth, antibusiness, but they live in a dreamworld that they think one can fix anything with an ordinance, fees or a grant. Taxes are too high, but that is everywhere. Great local people, great football team (3A state champs), great newspaper.
