I am a retired Army officer, business appraiser, and tax preparer with a home in Fayetteville, NC and a home in The Villages, Fl. My wife is a retired Civil Servent. We have 3 grown children, a married son in Colorado, a single daugher in Chicage, and a married son in Virginia with 2 grandchildren. We spend about 8 months in NC and 4 months in The Villages. We are planning on moving permanently to the Villages in a year or two. We have 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 2 birds. I am an avid tennis player and fisherman. My wife enjoys crafting. We also enjoy travelling and entertaining.

The Vllages, an over 55 Retire Community - 5/18/2008
Lady Lake is a bedroom community to The Villages, one of the best over 55 years of age retirement communities in the country. The villages is currently approximately 25,000 acres and is made up of about 35,000 homes. The community will build out at 50,000 homes.
The Villages encompasses an area including 3 counties; Lake, Sumter, and Marion counites. The majority of the housing is single family homes raning in size from about 1,000 sq ft to about 2,500 sq ft and the price range is from about $130K to about $300K (with a few less expensive and a few more expensive). Many of the residents are part time (snow birds) from all over the country as well as from other countries such as Canada and England.

The villages is an exciting place to live. It currnetly has 24 9-hole executive golf courses and 10 18-to-27 hole championship golf courses. In addition there are dozens of recreation centers with swimming pools, shuffle board courts, tennis courts, bocci ball courses, billiards tables, table tennis, and just about anything else one could think of.
There are two town squares in the Villages, with a third under construction, that have retail shops and wonderful restaurants. Every evening of the year the merchants sponser free entertainment at each town square. Hundreds to thousands of people congragate at the town squares each evening and have a wounderful time dancing, listening to music and just enjoying each others company.
