Lincoln Climate - 6/27/2009
I have lived in Lincoln all my life (61 years), and would make the following observations about Lincoln's weather/climate:

The weather is, along with high taxation, the worst aspect of living here. It is a place of extremes--very hot and humid for long periods in the summer (June through August), very cold off and on during the winter (January through March).

In general, the "feel" (temperature, humidity) is good in April and May, and part of June; October and November, and part of September. July and August are unbearable for people who don't like heat and humidity; January and February are likewise unpleasant for those who dislike cold.

December and June are transitional months, and can be quite pleasant or awful, depending on the year.

In summer, one of the main problems is that very hot/humid weather sets in and stays for days/weeks on end. And unlike places further west, nights do not cool off appreciably during July and August.

Snowfall is very inconsistent, and the city is often left with the worst type of winter--an "open" winter with very cold temperatures and no snow cover. Very hard on plants!

Wind is often an issue, summer and winter.
