Nothing Good About This Place -
10/21/2018I was born and raised in Huntington, WV and let me warn you: DO NOT MOVE HERE. It's a cheap little town and Marshall University is great (alumni here), but the amount of crookedness that comes with living in this town and state as a whole, is ungodly. Also, there is nothing to do. You have to drive to a surrounding city just to escape the drug infestation and find something interesting to do for the weekend. Law enforcement? LOL Try again. The police let these people run a muck and there is nothing anyone will ever do about it. The infrastructure is awful and there are no jobs here worth while. Why do you think all of us college graduates flee the state once we are finished? The people are nice, sure, too bad that doesn't make up for the lack of everything else. The hospitals are great, but they are here to rob you and make you wait 7 hours before seeing you and treating you. Hope your emergency wasn't really an emergency. No one wants to respect your education enough to give you a decent salary and if you really want to enjoy life, don't spend it here. You will become as depressed as the national reports say West Virginians really are.
