Nice Balance -
3/30/2010If you like your weather warm but not desert sizzling this might be a good choice. Wildomar has hotter summers than the ocean affected LA area but cooler than the desert areas to the east. Planting Zones are Sunset 18 /19 or USG 10 making for a relatively moderate climate on the warm side.
Coupled with affordability and access to LA and San Diego it makes for a good compromise.
Santa Rosa, CA
Cool Rainy Winters and Tall Redwoods -
2/23/2009Santa Rosa, an hour north of San Francisco is the beginning of the true Northern California with Redwoods becoming ubiquitous.
The Winters are cool and rainy with warmish but not impossible Summers with weather in the 80's to low 90's generally. The Winters will dip below freezing at night perhaps a dozen times with the days in the 50's generally.
Unfortunately the cost of living, like most of California will give pause if you are from out of state and are not familiar with the cost of the good life.
