Pretty calm & comfortable place -
1/5/2018I feel safe, the city services are pretty good. Not much crime at all, but maybe a tad noisier than some places with the trains, trucks and planes.

11/21/2015If you have that many vacant houses doesn't that mean that the people who originally owned the homes didn't have the means to care for the dwellings as well?

Gone downhill A LOT!!! -
6/28/2010Weak mayor, crooked politicians, upper tier tax base is leaving. Police department inept and not reflective of the community. So many things wrong with Southfield. Strange thing, it's a predominantly black city with an almost totally white police & fire department. Thanks Brenda Lawrence! You're as useless as they come. The few things Southfield has to brag about, were products of the pre-mayorial years of mayor Lawrence. Go figure. I'd look elsewhere if I were you. Southfield is well on it's way to becoming a little Detroit.
