1/7/2008Richard is wrong. The tax rate has dropped every year for the past five years and has been flat for a decade before that. What has happened is property values have skyrocketed and Florida's unfair system of taxation has made it difficult for NON HOMESTEADED property owners. Local electeds are NOT enriching themselves unless of course you think $12,000 a year for 60 hours of work is enriching oneself. No essential services have been cut back....no pet projects have been funded only projects voted on by residents....this myopic completely erroneous view is what's wrong with sites like this. Every Tom, Richard and Harry can sign on as an expert. Get your facts straight.
