I am a younger widow with two children, one daughter 18 and in college, the other a 9 year old son. I have lived in Cleveland, Ohio and it's near and far suburbs most of my life. Have also lived in several places in New York State, with a brief but wonderful stint in Port Aransas, Texas. I'm ready for a big change in my life so I am going to relocate somewhere in central to southwestern Florida, where I hope to spend the rest of my days! I wish to move asap (before another winter hits! ugh!!) so would appreciate any and all help anyone can give to help with my decisions!

Euclid, Ohio is close to the Cleveland-metro city limits, and strives to be better than other suburbs as it is situated on the shores of Lake Erie. I have lived in a "luxury" highrise a stones throw from the lake in the nicest part of town for 7 years now. For many years I have been ok with the northeast ohio winters, and climate that can change at the drop of a hat from 70 to 30 degrees in one afternoon. Cleveland enjoys one of the best healthcare systems in the nation with the world renowned Cleveland Clinic, among others. The cost of living is relatively low within the city and it's suburbs. But in the past several years the economy here has declined so rapidly and all inclusively that much looks like a wasteland! The State of Ohio and many of its North East cities have no money for even the basics to maintain and support the community. My lakefront community home has literally become unbearable with the flight of many good quality neighbors and businesses. In seven short years my little bit of heaven has become a desolated, crime ridden den of iniquity. Definitely not the place to raise children! Motherless children (this is what I call unsupervised kids under the age of 18) everywhere, not one child my 9 year old son can play with without some amount of fear!? Even school has gotten precarious! I'm a widowed mother with no one to help, but I'm leaving everything behind soon to start over somewhere else.
