Elkin, NC
Elkin is a great small town -
1/4/2010Grew up here. Unemployment, like much of the south,is due to outsourcing of textile industry. Currently Elkin, Yadkin Valley, has a thriving wine industry and many vineyards nearby.
It is a pretty town with a strong community spirit and an excellent school system.
Also for a town its size, has a high percentage of physicians and a good,small hospital.
Winston Salem and Charlotte are both not far away for shopping etc.
