Cheap Place to Live? -
6/25/2008Don't move here. Yes, Waterbury is a cheap place to live, but there is a reason for that. You can find tons of cheap appartments. But they may have an abandoned factory next door, been built on one of our many superfund toxic waste sites, drug dealers or crack house accross the street, polluted air from our rubber burning plant downtown, dirty water from lead pipes, or be owned by one of the many slum lords that participate in our crooked government here.

Poor Schools -
6/25/2008Waterbury, Ct. has a terrible school system that has been on a downward slide since the 1980's. Some of the high schools have come close to loosing their accredidation a couple of times. The middle schools are known as "the jungles", and a complete waste of 3 years. The grammer schools are trying hard but are overwhelmed with kids that are abused, neglected, living in poverty and have illiterate parents. 80% of adults living in Waterbury are illiterate, which helps explain the huge drug and crime problems.
