9/5/2019I hope you never moved here. We can't stand having any more out of state plants move here. Everything you wrote about Bend is total BS! Thanks to reviews like this and thousands of Californians moving here in droves, Bend is no longer a nice small "city". It used to be a small town!

I am a fourth generation native and we hate people moving here from out of state, but we hate Californians the most!!!!!!!!!!! Do not move here. You have ruined our once little town an basically our entire state, and we do not want anymore of you here.

9/5/2019Too bad that drive south to where you came from is sooo long and boring...because that's where all of us Bend natives would love to see you Californians...going...back to Cali. Doesn't matter how long you've been here you will never be an Oregonian. You continually sell Bend to anyone willing to listen. Even your negatives are negated with way more positives. So you really think we want even one more Californian to move here? Those of us who have lived here all our lives cringe every time we see another CA license plate and take great pleasure in flipping you all off!!!!!!!!

9/5/2019Funny how the comments seem to be from people who are not Bend natives so they have no idea what has been like to watch my beautiful hometown be overrun by Californians. Property taxes had tripled in the past eight years! No one can afford to live here anymore except the Californians who drove up our housing prices to the point where young people and retirees cannot find or afford housing. I am a fourth generation native and I struggle to continue to afford my home even though it is paid off. Food, gas, utilities prices have skyrocketed. The Californians still think it is cheap to live here compared to where they came from, so up and up they keep going. People here are no longer cordial and never smile when you pass them, we have to spend tax money to build more schools because of all the kids they are bringing here, the roads are full of texting drivers who run red lights, our parks are so full of people we can't even find parking let along enjoy a hike or fishing trip. They leave cigarette butts, trash and dog poop everywhere, and they refuse to leash their dogs in clearly marked leash-only areas. We are being taken over by self indulgent, rude and entitled jerks....and you wonder why the native locals are getting uptight and cranky. Maybe if you all stayed where you are, we would still love living here instead of having to consider finding another place to live after spending our entire lives here. And for your information, Bend, and most of Oregon, is and has always been conservative until recent California liberals took over!

9/5/2019Clearly you are a plant from out of state. Any native like me never claims Bend is an exceptional place to live because we don't want anymore people moving here and continuing to ruin in. To say there is "affordable" housing here gives you away as likely a Californian since you are the only people who find Bend affordable since you've caused a price explosion and created a total lack of any housing whatsoever. We have less than 1% vacancy and finding a place for people who rent is nearly impossible. Now with all the new California methods in place, most rentals are controlled by a few property management companies who require renters proof of four times the overly inflated rent to even qualify. No one makes $5000 a month here so not sure how one person can possibly afford to rent a one bedroom for $1200 a month. These same apartments were $500 a month just five or six years ago. Soon as a for sale sign goes up, you immediately see California license plates in the driveway, soon followed by a or rent sign. These people are preying on folks just trying to find a modest place to live. I am a fourth generation native and sick to death of what's happened to my hometown and home state because of Californians inundating us with people. Most everyone I know hates them all and the sight of their license plates is enough to make you sick to your stomach! Funny how you mention activities that we can no longer enjoy due to the huge crowds of people in every park, on every trail and polluting our once pristine river. We can't even find parking let alone enjoy any of these activities that are being literally loved to death by out of staters that don't give a damn about our town.

9/5/2019Try being a fourth generation local and being faced with the idea of relocating from what's been your hometown for decades. To not be able to enjoy retiring in a town you've lived and worked in your entire life? The problems you describe are real and happening all over our once beautiful town. There seems to be no end to the invasion of Californians. We hate them all and flip off ever car with a CA license plate! We had a Californian attempt to buy a house on our street of just six homes to use as a vacation rental. I overheard him talking to the HOA president, so I told him I lived on that street and would not tolerate a vacation rental. I said if you want real problems and the cops called every night go for it. Thankfully we never heard from him again and the house sold to an elderly couple from Washington.

9/5/2019I am a fourth generation local. You know...those people you Californians can't stand. You are the very type of people who have ruined our once beautiful, quiet little town. Your post is total BS and sounds like the typical California real estate broker ad! Californians suck and native Bendites want them all gone!!!! The truth is you and your fellow Californians don't care about Bend. You came here to sell it off piece by piece to the highest bidder, and now Oregonians can't even afford to live in their own hometowns. You don't this to Portland as well. I bet at least one person in your home sells real estate. Only a Californian would post an email contact. Always plugging for your money making mindset. You talk about outdoor fun yet we can't even enjoy a local park or trail due to the overflowing parking lots and jerks who destroy every bit of nature we used to have here. Who cares about great places to drink beer???? Like we need more horrible drivers texting and running red lights? Yeh, let them drive drunk too! The worst part is once you people get here, you continually have more of your friend and family relocate here so the invasion never ends. We are inundated with Californians now to the point of no return. California used to be a beautiful state but you all loved it to death, turned it into a cesspool, and allowed your liberal political views to change it forever. Now you are doing the same thing to my hometown. I just wish you would all leave and stop moving here for good!

9/5/2019You do understand that the Bend you are accurately describing is due to the non-stop influx of people moving here from out of state? I am a fourth generation native and absolutely hate what all of the Californians have done to ruin my once quiet and beautiful little town. Locals don't have I love Bend, or be nice you're in Bend stickers on our cars. Those are the idiots who have moved here from out of state acting like they know anything about who we used to be. I am sorry you are so unhappy here, but you can't begin to imagine how sad and brokenhearted those of us who call this our hometown feel about what's been done to our town just to make room for aholes we can't stand. Bend used to be an oasis, now it is nearly unlivable.

It is not a rumor that you have destroyed our own state and have now set your sights on ours and especially our once beautiful, quiet "little" towns like Bend. I am a fourth generation native and we can't stand to even look at your license plates anymore without flipping you off. We are tired of dealing with you rude, entitled crappy people who have not only made housing unafforable, you've ruined our trails, lakes, parks, etc. No place to park to enjoy outdoor activities...Californians, dogs running off leash in on leash only parks...Californians, cigarette butts thrown down on the ground...Californians, pot smokers everywhere when it's not legal to smoke in public...Californians, drunk and disorderly from a day of craft beer drinking...Californians, try to buy or rent a place...too late...Californians, need to see your doctor...Californians, want a shop at your local supermarket in peace...nope!...Californians, liberal psychos changing the political climate...Californians. We all complain about you people. Every store clerk here thinks you are a holes. We can pick you out in a crowd. You are the jerks who park in no parking, you let your kids run wild, you talk on your cell phones with no common sense or volume controls, you drive dangerously, you make crappy neighbors. YOU SUCK!!!!! Do us all a favor and move back if you are already here and DO NOT move here if you are thinking about it!
