Mariposa, CA

Wonderful Mariposa - 7/21/2010
We've recently moved to Mariposa and are overwhelmed with all the beauty here. The Oaks and wildflowers are amazing. Our visits to Yosemite have been spectacular. The town is very friendly and there has been plenty of interesting events taking place to keep us busy. The days are a bit warm but the mornings and evenings couldn't be nicer. Bright blue skies, NO TRAFFIC, and AFFORDABLE living! What more could you look for? We are so happy to have found Mariposa.

Yerington, NV

If you want to die go ahead and move to yerington. It is a great place for people that enjoy leukemia and walks through the alfalfa fields with a complementary shower from a pesticide spray plane. then you can drive up to the beautiful weed heights to visit a great superfund site. The anaconda mine is a perfect place to pick up a fatal dose of uranium, mercury, cadmium and so on. unfortunately this is all to real. I grew up here and lost many of freinds to cancers and leukemia. My mother still lives there and i can't stand it. when the wind blows which is all the time the dust from the copper mine tailings blankets the valley and it is deadly. This is a huge superfund site that the government wants to clean up but the town folk do not want everybody to move away. yerington would be nothing but a ghost town if people understood why their friends and family are getting sick. stay away from this death trap please!!!!

California, CA

Ojai, CA - 10/17/2009
Ojai is a very unique and special place. It has it's great features along with it's draw backs. It's very expensive and not really a family oriented place. The people are a mix of all kinds, though most are "older" and many may find snobby. There are two wonderful health food stores and a fantastic farmers market all year round on Sundays. Ojai is a very cute, very small town in a very beautiful "organic minded" valley. We've lived here about 8 years and have fallen in love with the Chaparral. The trails through the Los Padres National Forrest couldn't be more beautiful or full of surprises. The geology is very interesting as well. As much as we've found our place here in the natural beauty we are yet to feel comfortable in the community. The air quality could be better as we're a very small valley, and as the wind blows close to LA and Bakersfield. I must brag though that we have no industry, power plants, or mines. Ojai is great but not if you're a young family.
