We were stationed at Eielson for 13 years and loved it there. It is however a love it or hate it type of place due to the extremes. Summers are wonderful light all the time and mild. Lots of camping and fishing to be done. Winters are cold and dark but the Northern Lights are awesome! If you like the outdoors and don't mind the cold and dark in the winter you'll be fine.

Mount Pleasant is a small town but close to bigger cities. Nice place to live without being in all the congestion!
