I like living in a small city with easy access to hiking, biking, kayaking, and interesting people watching. Northampton has the small liberal college town feel with more restaurants, bars, shops, music and theatre venues than you can ever ask for. Walking around downtown is nice to see all the diverse people and hear people playing their guitars outside the shops. Very friendly, earthy, progessive small city that is affordable and fun. I really enjoy living in Northampton

Northampton, MA

Small city with so much culture - 5/2/2008
Northampton is a very progressive, diverse, liberal small city where you will find so much to do in just the downtown area alone. Music, shopping, restaurants, bars, parks. You have the Connecticut River, Mt. Holyoke and the seven sisters mountain ranges. Great location and easy to get anywhere with a small airport and consistent free busing to all the five colleges between here and Amherst. If you have an open mind and like people watching downtown is always a fun area. Always good bands and performers coming to town, overall great place to live.
