Beautiful area for nature lovers. Low crime. -
3/18/2022Safe, quiet neighborhoods. Many retired people move her from up North to enjoy the sun. We're close to the Gulf, and a ten minute drive to see the Manatees & dolphins in nearby Crystal River. Great neighbors, shopping close by. Inexpensive housing and it's your choice whether you'd like an HOA or not. (We don't live in one.) Suncoast Pkway is being built right now for a faster commute to Tampa, etc. A great place to live in a variety of types of neighborhoods with varying prices.
Of course, there are some rentals downtown that are a bit rundown, but many of them have been flipped and sold after the virus hit ~ and there are many happy new homeowners here spending time enjoying the large quarter acre lots and working in their yards doing home improvement projects. it's nice to watch the area grow and thrive.
People are very friendly. I'm handicapped, and people are always opening doors for me, and are very helpful. We've lived here almost 5 years now and the area is growing daily.
