new Fiber Optic city wide -
6/5/2009Memphis Missouri evolves from farming families in surrounding Scotland County. IT's the best little town I've ever known. While I was stationed in Sacremento in '84, Memphis had cable and Sac didn't. Now we are getting fiber optic run to anyone who wants it. We are a rather independent community. We have our own water, power, hospital, senior center, library, county school, as well as being the county seat, home of the regional planning commission, rural water district, highway district and two sections of State Social Services. There are Christian assemblies within walking distance. If we lack anything it would be abundant jobs for our own gradutes. Many go on to college and some come back. But like their working class parents, many commute 30-45 minutes in every direction.
