The news about this place is spreading -
5/8/2014I got this off a NY Times article, and I think it accurately sums it up - "I lived in Atlanta during the first phase of its rapid growth. I saw bad decision after bad decision made to serve the wants of the developers and business community. There are a lot of forward-thinking, good people in Atlanta, but their voices were mostly drowned out in the name of rampant development. Choking traffic, endless sprawl, and soulless neighborhoods were some of the results. There have been some efforts to change course, but so much damage has been done."

5/8/2014Atlanta is a rat hole. I grew up in Chicago. I have spent considerable amount of time in Florida, and I moved to Atlanta from Southern California. The worst drivers in the world are in Atlanta. They drive like they are scared. They don't get in the middle of the intersection to turn left. Many don't know that you can turn right on red. Many require a mile clearance to make any turn. I have come to the point where if I am turning left and the driver in front of me won't get into the intersection to turn left then I go around them so I don't have to sit around for another cycle of lights. Job market sucks. I am in my third period of unemployment in 4 1/2 years. The place is still infested with rednecks - retarded selfish and childish rednecks. They did not think at all when the area was booming. They will allow 100 homes to be built in a lot that is really suited for 70 homes, and the new subdivisions have one way in and one way out without stop lights. The place is an unorganized discombobulated mess. I know every big city has problems, but they are correctable problems. Atlanta problems can't be corrected.
