Bowling Green, KY | 1 Review(s)

I am 42, was born and raised in Bowling Green, KY and am a 2 year Army veteran (stationed in SC, TX and CA). I am divorced, have two children, John, 24 and Jennifer, 21, and each of them now have two children of their own. So I'm a Grandma! The oldest grandchild will be three at the end of next month and the youngest is one month old. One girl and three boys! I am engaged to a man I have known for 20 years, he is from NOLA and we are going to Mardi Gras for our honeymoon nest year! I live with him and our two dogs, Honey and Olive. I am going to school to get my BS in Anthropology/Archaeology and I have a few hobbies: Genealogy, Geology, SCA (Medieval/Renaissance Re-enactment), crochet, cross-stitch and sewing. Oh, yeah, Good southern cooking!

Bowling Green, KY

A really great city! - 7/21/2010
Bowling Green, KY is one of Kentucky's best and most progressive cities in which to live and work. The economy is growing, jobs are available in many fields, pay is a little above average for most positions. New companies and businesses are opening all the time, new subdivisions and houses are springing up all over and general growth within the community is constant. The are more restaurants per capita in Bowling Green than anywhere else in the state and the food quality is wonderful! The city and county schools are great, Western Kentucky University (Go Big Red!) is a terrific university with award winning programs! Because we are in the Bible Belt, there are an abundance of churches of all religions and we have a very diverse population; people from many states around the country have moved here, as well as people from around the world. Bowling Green is the Home of the GM Corvette; every Corvette made since the 1980's has been made here with pride and integrity! We have our own Minor-League Baseball team-The Bowling Green HotRods and Beech Bend Park where they have drag racing, an amusement park and a water park as well. We have many art and craft shops, an active historic preservation project going on in our downtown district, and a downtown square where we hold our free "Concert-in-the-Park Series every summer. We have begun to outgrow our small town feel, graduating to mid-size city, with only a few roads having major congestion. I don't know so much about other areas in KY, but if you come through the state, this is the place you don't want to miss!! We are situated on I-65, between Louisville, KY and Nashville, TN. Feel free to contact me if you have questions or comments! Y'all come see us!!
