Hello,
I have been a resident of Columbus County North Carolina for 25 years. I am real estate agent for North Carolina and South Carolina. I do a lot of volunteer work in my community because it is a great place to live. My husband and I founded the Pireway Paddlefest and the Pireway Riversweep six years ago to keep our rivers clean and be able to provide canoe and kayak racing to the community and its visitors.

Columbus County- The best place to live, work and - 2/5/2009
Columbus County is a great place to live, work and play. Quiet community but with lots of things for the active person to do. Lake Waccamaw offers boating, fishing, skiing, and the North Carolina State Park. Tabor City offers Lake Tabor for boat racing and Yogi Bear's Campground. Pireway offers the Waccamaw River with the Pireway Paddlefest in July. The Pireway Paddlefest is a day of adventure with canoe and kayak races, the Waccamaw Siouan Indians performing the heritage dances, and lots of booths to entertain adults and children. Bolton offers the Pow Wow of the Waccamaw Siouan Indians with fantastic dances and storytelling of days gone by. Whiteville, the county seat, has unique shopping and small town charm. Come to visit or live in Columbus County for the greatest southern charm on the East Coast.
