St. Charles, MO
Beautiful small town -
3/23/2008I live in St. Charles now for a year and it is really a nice and beautiful small town with a historical downtown area and many restaurants and places to go. Crime rate is low, especially compared to the nearby St. Louis area.
Weather is usually nice, except the fact that it gets very hot in the summer. Winters are mild. A lot of festivals. I like it here.
Greenville, SC
Air quality -
11/25/2006I am planing to move out of St. Louis and one of the reasons is the bad air quality (29). I feel like I am getting sick from that. I was thinking about Greenville, and was shocked to see, that it is rated even lower (23). Can anybody tell me, how bad it really is?

Good and bad about St. Louis -
11/25/2006Good: There is a nice Forest Park, with a zoo, museum etc. - everything for free and good nevertheless. A lot of things to do, live in the nice Delmar Loop area. A lot of good food, Asian especially. Very international due to Washington University, open minded. Public transportation is getting better.
The weather is a little bit too hot in the summer, but nice in spring and fall. I don't like snow and winter, but we do not have too much of it. People are friendly and diverse.
Bad: #1 Be careful where you live!!! There are really, REALLY bad areas, you don't even want to pass by. Crime rate is highest in the country (but it also depends, where you are living. Feel pretty save here in the Loop area).
Air pollution is also a problem. I feel like I am getting sick from that and it is one of the reasons for me wanting to move out of here. Besides from missing the mountains... :-)
Getting better: The downtown/Mississippi area. There are some plans out there, I think it will become a little nicer right at the Mississippi in the next 2 to 3 years.
