Fruit Cove, FL

Love living in the Julington Creek Plantation area - 10/12/2018
We moved to Jacksonville, FL around 13 years ago...we lived in the Arlington Area, Southside area and Bartram Park area and then after so many years of getting to know Jacksonville and we finally found the BEST place to live (especially for young families) in Jacksonville Florida is here in the Julington Creek Plantation area near Fruit Cove. It's the most southern tip of Jacksonville and the safest place to live in Jacksonville. We moved here because we wanted our child to be in the St. Johns County Schools.

We love this area, it feels safe, clean and most people are friendly. If you have a young growing family and have/want to move to Jacksonville, Florida I would recommend moving here in the southern part of Jacksonville. St. Johns River is right here and there are beautiful parks to go take a walk on the piers overlooking the river. There are also little parks everywhere with playgrounds, ball fields and places to ride your bikes. Kids/parents riding bikes to school. Schools are great here as well!

The clubhouses offer anything you can think of from swimming pools, gyms, classes, swim teams, tennis teams, etc and there is a golf course in the Julington Creek Plantation community as well.

They are building a new town center nearby (closer to the Durbin Creek area) which is another neighborhood I would recommend to families that are moving here. Less than a 5/10 minute drive to Publix, Walgreens, Walmart Marketplace & Dunkin Donuts (gotta love their coffee). Publix grocery stores are around every corner around here. Earth Fare, Trader Joe's, Starbucks, Michael's, World Market, Walmart and any fast food/restaurant you can think of is only a 10/15 minute drive away on San Jose Blvd. 15/20 minute drive to Mickler's Beach.

The weather here is sunny and beautiful year round. The hottest months are in the summer from June - September. The rest of the year while everyone is freezing or going back indoors the Floridians are outside in full force enjoying wearing shorts and sandals year round. January and February you get excited if a cold front comes in and you pull out your jackets. Usually winter you wear layers...jacket or cardigans in morning and evenings. Pretty rare you will wear heavy coats. It rains in the summer but it's one of those wait 10 minutes and the sun will be back out.

Only a little over 2 hour drive to Orlando which is great if you have little ones and you like to buy the annual passes to Disney. Day t
