Great Place to live -
3/22/2006I'm born and raised in Minneapolis and love it here. I've been to many cities and find Minneapolis to have great culture, food, nightlife, and events! I'm from the suburb of Brooklyn Park which is just north of N. Minneapolis ( a place you want to stay away from due to crime and drugs)...They're starting to change the Brooklyn Park area to make it "newer" and "nicer" looking, by putting in higher cost housing..which really doesn't solve the crime, just moves it to another location. I now live near Uptown area which I love, yet the crime is prevelant with car break-ins and shootings all around. Crime is expected in big cities, yet I've never really felt unsafe here...again, unless you travel to North Minneapolis.
If all you're looking for is a great "cookie cutter" place to raise your family where there is no diversity, you can always travel to the rich suburbs like Minnetonka. You'll pay an arm and a leg for a home there, but there will be only white rich snobs to devote your time and attention to. Good day.
