8/28/2021I'm 33 years old, and I've lived in this town for 25 of them.
Not by choice.
The majority of people here, and I'm not exaggerating, are on drugs. It's sad. And I'm terrified. I have a 3 year old. I have been trying so hard to get away, and move somewhere else. But the truth is, I can't. The Boyd County system is set up to make you fail, so they can control you through your reliance on them.
I have lived in a homeless shelter for nearly 4 years, because the Housing and Urban Development landlords, are changing their minds and reclaiming their properties.
If I sound paranoid, I assure you, I am not.
I have been declared mentally sound with an IQ of 158.
I was never allowed to go to school, and thus, never receive my diploma. Because of that, I'm forced to work long hours for $7.25 and hour!!!
When I can actually get my son into daycare. They make that difficult too. I can't even get my license. We have to walk for miles on sidewalk in varying states of dilapidation.
In a city with a high crime rate, how do you think that makes a single mother feel?
If you want to move somewhere and keep your peace of mind. Look elsewhere.
As a side note, the humidity in the summer is literally unbearable.
