Placitas Reflections -
4/6/2017Placitas, which is perfectly situated between Santa Fe and Albuquerque, offers serenity in a rural setting that is reasonably close to conveniences and necessities. Crime here is almost non existent, especially when compared to our urban neighbors. The setting is idyllic, and the areas to the East, away from the highway, are especially appealing, private and well worth the extra 10 minute drive. There is still some land to be found in that part of Placitas where a custom home can be built or where resales of very well maintained homes can be found. Most of the homes since 2006 have refrigerated air conditioning. Many subdivisions are on shared wells, and the water is crystal clear and of very good quality. All share the breathtaking and extensive mesa and mountain views for which the Land of Enchantment is known. Sunsets over Cabezon, an extinct volcano to the West, are seen vividly from this vantage point. After living here for many years, and traveling the Southwest, it is clear that Placitas is an undiscovered and unique gem. (The only reason for not giving it 5 stars is that it suits a special kind of person; you have to come and see it for yourself!)
