San Marcos, TX

This is just my opinion but here it goes: San Marcos, Texas is a fantastic place for families. The schools are great. Around the summer-time, it does get humid but it rarely ever gets over 98. Thankfully, we have a beautiful river that runs through the city. That is where you will find people of all ages during the summer. The pace of life depends on you. If you are a work-aholic, you can commute to Austin and stay very busy but if you are like most of us, then you stay inside sometimes and go out on occasion to enjoy any of the multitude of community events that are always going on. The cost of living here is pretty fair too. The rent for a house or apartment can run anywhere between 600-1000. It depends on what you want. Jobs are pretty easy to find, too. We also have a very beautiful campus. I attended it when I was younger and I was very impressed. I hope I have helped a little.

Hi Nichole, You should come back to San Marcos. Some things have changed since you were here last time. The campus has grown. The streets are a little busier. The square is souped up. The new shops are varying levels of cool. The people, who have always been very friendly, are in greater numbers. Also, there is a place in town now that has the best Mexican food.

Hello Ruben. I can honestly say that San Marcos, Texas is the most beautiful place I have ever been. My family and I love it here. The people are amazingly friendly. The university campus is breathtaking. We also have a river that runs through the whole city and through different parks and recreation areas. I know your kids will love it here because mine do. There is never a boring day here. The university international program is always growing so the presence of diversity is defined. People here are very health conscious and welcome fresh ideas. It is also very peaceful here. Enjoy!

San Marcos has the most beautiful people and places that I have ever seen throughout my travels. I love this city so much that I decided to settle down here and start a family. It is full of the friendliest people you will ever meet. The parks are amazing. The university campus is enjoyed by all ages because it is so beautiful and great for getting your daily walk. The city is always alive with people but somehow maintains a quiet charm. If you come to San Marcos, put the river at the top of you itinerary because it is something that you must experience first hand. Take a walk along the river that weaves through several different parks. It is truly awe inspiring. Enjoy!
