Greeley, CO

Big Town with Small Town Feel - 3/9/2012
My husband and I moved from FLorida to Greeley in 2006 after suffering the 2005 Hurricane season. It is a quite place to live for 90K population. The City concentrates a lot on preserving the City for parks and the UCCC Civic Center brings in good acts at a low cost. Of course, we boast of the world's largest rodeo--the INdependence Day Stampede. There is usually something always happening every weekend. We were warned of the smell and it has really not been bad. You may smell the meat plants once a week but usually not that often. The last 2 winters have been extremely mild which has allowed you to stay busy even in the snow. You are a close drive to Denver, the mountains, the ski slopes, Wyoming and is a great place to raise a family (even if the school district is not as good as some would like--but then what school system is living up to the expectations of the public. If you want to live in a big municipality with the small town feel, Greeley is a great place to be. Oh, did I mention that we have 2 colleges in town, AIMS Community College and University of Northern Colorado.
