Anacortes, WA
Wonderful -
9/13/2005Anacortes is one of the most beautiful places on earth. There is mountians, rivers, oceans, islands, forests and countless beautiful places to explore. The city is carefully and simply layed out. The streets simply go by letters and Numbers, making it a snap to get around. Less than 70 miles north of seattle with 1/2 the rainfall of the Olympia/Seattle Raincloud region. The population is at 15,000 right now and will cap out around 18,000. So if you are going to move there there is no better time then now. The prices of homes will surely skyrocket

Do Yourself A favor -
9/13/2005I have lived in many places including California, Washington, Colorado, And Canada. I am 21 and have lived 18 of those years in modesto off and on. I have seen it grow from a shacktown to a struggling midsize City. First off the weather is horrible. Extremely hot summers and gray foggy winters. Then you have the crime. Ranked #1 in the nation for Car theft, with an evergrowing gang population. Modesto is the meth capital of the World since it is surrounded by farmland(that is being eaten by oversized trackhomes) and it shows in the people you will come in contact with. It is one of the most unhealthy cities to live in with all the agracultural dust and smog. Everything you see was put there by man and there isnt one place in the entire city of which you can go and relax without being hassled in some form. People are rude and in a hury even though they are going nowhere. The entire city is one big grid outlined by farms and methlabs set out in the california valley desert. I lived in a $600,000 house in the nicest area of modesto and you couldnt pay me to go back.
