I moved here in 2010, bought a building on main street, hired a contractor who robbed me for over $15,000.00. He was supposed to buy materials and never came back. I found he was working for another person and that man's wife was in town telling people she was afraid he was ripping them off too. A friend of hers asked me if I would warn them about my story...I said yes. She took me to their house to talk to him, she introduced me, he flipped out and started beating the crap out of me, broke my arm in two places. My daughter (age 17) stepped in to stop him and he hit her in the face. I filed a police report. A month later ...I...was arrested for trespassing. I was then NOT allowed to go to court because if i insisted that I have a fair trial they promised they'd prosecute my kids and mess up their futures with a crimnal record ...actually he told me he'd F%^$ up their future.
Stay AWAY from Baker.

Crime is rampant and the District Attorney is lazy - 6/13/2011
You can be the victim of a violent crime here and the police and the DA don't give a damn. If youre cousins...and EVERYBODY is cousins, then they'll cover your ass even if you committed a serious crime. The DA can't finish reading a police report, and once that is pointed out to him, he'll denied it and go out of his way to prove that he can do anything because he has nobody to answer to.
The people are mean, the weather is HORRIBLE, the DA is an idiot and a drunk, there are no stores, biggest mistake I ever made was moving here. Save yourself. Don't even come for a visit, but if you do...please take me with you when you leave.
