i serve god by serving his creation. i serve a living god of a living people. taking cues from the day our lord chased the money-changers out of the temple, i pray for the education, enlightenment, and empowerment of the average working people of mississippi and every state, every country, around this world, in order to effect their delivery from bondage to the self-serving poor excuses for public servants that prey on them and that deliver the people up to be abused by those in power who lack the love and compassion that comes from knowing the living god.

Saltillo, MS

public water - 12/28/2008
my daughter, who is manager of a tupelo business, lives in saltillo,ms.
she told me today that during the month of november, several warnings were issued directing people to boil all their city water before drinking, cooking, or watering pets and livestock.
i believe that it was 3 weeks during the last month they had to boil the water before using it. this is after the people there pay a water bill.
the people in saltillo tell my daughter that this is nothing new, but has been that was for years with no relief. and, not just in november, but regularly, these "boil the water" warnings come out all during the year.
what is the deal? there must be a corrupt politician in the pay of some pollutor, because the interest of the people is definitely not being served in saltillo.
there are also many days when clothes freshly washed in saltillo's public water supply come out permanently stained and ruined.
so, my advice is, if you are thinking of moving to saltillo, think again!
how could a community with this poor degree of public service possibly be a good place to live, or raise your kids. somebody there is working against the people and for some pollutors. ask hallie barber about it. ask him why he ran for governor to start with. if he is honest with you, he will tell you how the oil companies sent him down to mississippi and elected him to get control of mississippi's gulf coast and islands for drilling, to their total ruination.
ever since reconstruction days, the poor state of mississippi has been victimized over and again by what they once called "carpet-beggars", a word for scum-bags who abuse the rights of mississippi's people and profit from it. today is not much different. like the old song said, "mississippi water tastes like turpentine".

sincerely,
