Andrew, May I ask why you were pulled over by the Mount Vernon Police to be "beaten by the barney fife" local police officers. Strange that I can go out any time of the day or night and not be pulled over for anything. If you are unhappy in Mount Vernon why not find another place to live. We moved up to Knox Country from Franklin County in the early 1990's. We are more than happy with Mount Vernon. The crime rate is low and the living is more laid back. It is a great place to live and raise children. Law abiding citizens normally do not get pulled over by the police unless they have committed a traffic violation.
