Plenty of snow, ice and cold days in winter. Humi -
1/24/2009In the 2007-2008 winter, we reached a record high snowfall (2nd highest snowfall ever recorded...the number 1 spot was 100 years ago). This year, we are on track to come very close to last year's record snowfall. If you don't like snow, ice and brutally cold days, this isn't the place for you. We don't get much of a fall or Indian summer. By the time spring rolls around, people break out their shorts and start walking around in the 50-60 degree weather like it's summer! (Yes, there are quite a few nutty people out there that act like it's summer in April!)
In the summer, it can get quite hot and humid - not very enjoyable. It takes a while to reach "summer" temperatures in June, then we usually are slammed with high temperatures and high humidity in July and August. Then in September, it cools off very rapidly and we don't get to enjoy much of an "in-between" time period that isn't too hot and humid, and not too cold. There don't seem to be many days of really enjoyable, "gorgeous" days here. When we do get those few "gorgeous" days, it is so easy to be irritated that you don't have time to drop all of your "to-do" activities and just enjoy the weather.
