nice area, not so nice weather -
7/24/2006I can't wait until next year when I graduate from college because it will be bye bye Michigan! For me, snow or freezing cold weather 8 monnths out of the year, scorching hot or humid weather 2 months out of the year and 2 months of relatively nice weather is not something that I want to look forward to for the rest of my life. Weather aside, Rochester Hills is a very nice place to live. Its pretty, nice houses, and close to Detroit but still a safe suburban area. I like that it only takes me 30 minutes average to get to Wayne State University. I also feel safe in Rochester Hills in the night time. If my husband and I had children, I would feel safe letting them play outside. The only downside to this area, besides the weather, is the heavy rush hour traffic between 3 and 6. Because we are so close to Detroit, is is hell trying to get anywhere on time during these hours. What would normally be a 10 minute drive is a 30 minute drive. It is also pretty expensive to live here. But it usually is in safe areas close to big cities. Other that that, its a great place. It is located next to many museums, the Detroit zoo, colleges and Universities, malls and shopping centers and lots of other thing to do for entertainment.
