Nice small town -
11/12/2009I have lived in Sterling for 9 years. It is a nice place to live, but very isolated. The nearest mall is almost two hours away. We do have a Home Depot and Walmart, but not much more than that. Cost of living is high here due to lack of competition.
The air is clear, but can have an agricultural smell due to feedlots or a beer-like smell due to the ethanol plant. The water is bordering on undrinkable, it is very hard and the flavor is terrible, most people use RO systems or use bottled water. That may change as Sterling will be building a new water treatment plant, but along with that will come a steep increase in the cost of water to your home.
