Puyallup, WA

Public transportation - 3/27/2010
Most people who live here commute the 35 miles to Seattle in order to get decent paying jobs. The Sounder train has a stop right here in Puyallup and its runs are increasing as commuters turn to it more and more. It's a very comfortable ride and only takes about 45 minutes to get to Seattle. In the past, taking the bus south to Tacoma and then over to Puyallup has taken as long as 2 hours and a few times as long as 4 (with accidents slowing things down). People not familiar with our area should be aware that Western Washington is a commuter area. The majority of jobs are in Seattle, Bellevue and Tacoma. Many people don't want to live in the city or can't afford to, so they live quite a distance away and commute. Many choose Puyallup because of its relative nearness to Seattle, but it's still just outside of the expensive King County tax area.
