great schools for a well rounded education - 5/15/2008
Quaker Valley School District is outstanding. QVSD encompasses Sewickley and several small surrounding communities. The District consists of one high school, one middle school, and two elementary schools. The District is small, yet is well funded with updated facilities, well paid (and non unionized) teachers, and comprehensive programming. The District believes in and executes well a curriculum that balances traditional academics and the arts. An overwhelming majority of students graduate and go to college. Parent involvement is encouraged. Special needs students (I have one) are well cared for and integrated into the mainstream student population.
