Turning it around -
6/13/2009I've had my daughter in the Euclid system now for 2 years plus pre-school. In that time I have been extremely involved in working with the board, PTA and teachers. I can say with some authority that the people doing this work are killing themselves to make things better. They are realistic about where things were and have already made so much progress that so few people know about. The biggest problem will continue to be parental lack of involvement in their child's education. If parents work with the administration and actually talk to the teachers, they will see that their own teachings are helping to undermine the work the teacher is doing. Maybe their little angel didn't do the right thing and should be called out on it. Stop assuming everyone is out to get you/your child and that the schools will do all of the educating with no work on your part. If you want to child who does well in school, then you need to get out and get involved with your child. You don't have to volunteer at school. All you have to do is be responsible for your child's attitude and work ethic.
Euclid is doing great things and Dr. Jones is the best superintendent I have ever seen and I have been in and worked with several school districts. We are extremely lucky to have someone who is so approachable and willing to do the right thing even if it isn't easy.
