2/7/2012Moved to the mountains only 2 years ago from a big NC city. Thought this area near Asheville would be nice, but the people here are unkind and no one associates outside of their circles unless you are family or a mom going to school in the town, otherwise it is hard to make and keep friends. The jobs are limited because it is a seasonal/tourist area, and being that it is near Ashville, and tourists visit our town, you would think the hourly wages would be a little higher, but they are not. The town people are poor, and mostly everyone in town is on unemployment or they just don't want to work. I am thinking of moving to Tennessee, only a couple hours away, cause the economy is better and the cities give more opportunity for work.
