3/24/2010I lived in Fort Lauderdale from 1999 to 2006 and have to say as a 40 yr old male coming from New England that area is getting too congested and crime and drugs are everywhere. Unless you live east of Federal highway and live in a bubble and make over 100,000 a year you can live a nice dream life on the beach but two streets over and they are selling crack,bodies and whatever you want. The police cant keep up with the crimes and everyday you hear about shootings, rapes,home invasions and you dont feel safe. I lived on commercial and federal highway in an apartment complex and felt the need for the first time to buy a gun. I couldnt believe how easy it was to get. I would not raise a family in Fort Lauderdale or Broward county. I love the Latino culture and have met many nice people down there. The problem is too many people from too many peoples are residing their and clashing and also it is a haven for criminals between the drugs and people come down thinking they are going to live in paradise and they cant get a job. So stealing a car in 90 degrees weather makes it more appealing than the northern 30 degree weather. South florida is divided into two classes the rich and the poor. I have never seen a place where you can have a million dollar house and two streets over you have the ghettos.If you live on A1A your allset but who can afford that. The you go down Broward Blvd or sistrunk ave and boom less than a mile from million dollar houses and condos you have one of the highest crime and drug infested areas in the USA. I am afraid it is not the paradise it once was and I fear it is going to get worse, even in Boca Raton they are feeling the crime waves go so higher,Rape and child abduction, high percentage of pediphiles. I dont blame the people that have liveed there all their lives who are3 moving out. You see alot of people from third world countries are coming there and it is paradise to them because they lived in cardboard houses so when they get a 3 bedroom apt with running water and plumbing and cable who cares if 15 people live their, thats paradise to them. Their is no hope for southern Florida and I am sorry for that, I miss it but If I ever go back i will live on A1A and only for 3 months a year and carry my gun on me.

3/24/2010Brockton has a great transportation system. We have buses and the train that run to Boston from 6am to 10pm at night and it is reasonably priced
