San Diego Country Estates, CA

Best Kept Secret In SoCal - 4/28/2017
We moved to SDCE/Ramona 15 years ago and I have to say it has been the best experience of our lives. We have lived in several different states and all over San Diego County before settling here with our three children. At first I was concerned about the drive in and out but after living here found it to be a rather peaceful commute as opposed to any of the Interstate commutes, and traffic is only bad during rush hours but nothing compared to "Down the Hill". The people in this community are mostly awesome. It is easy to make friends here and plug in to churches and community groups. I have made more dear friends here than in 32 years back in my home town. It is a small community but spread out rather well and the SDCE has so much to offer for young families with children. There are two public pools that are always clean, activities for the kids, two of the best elementary schools in the State and Horse, Bike, and Hiking Trails galore. It is a normal sight daily to see people riding their horses around and you are allowed to keep horses on the half acre or more, home sites as well. There are all types of sports teams and riding clubs. The San Vicente Golf Course and Resort are located here, and the restaurant and bar are both very good. If you like an active lifestyle, you would never tire of things to do here. The quaint rustic town of Ramona is only 6-15 minutes drive depending on your location and there are grocery stores and shops with just about everything you need there. Much of the SDCE homes have beautiful views and there are no cookie cutter houses here. This is an extremely unique community set apart from the typically fast paced city-like Southern California lifestyle, which we are always so glad to escape from. I don't regret a single day of our lives here and can't imagine living anywhere that could even come close to this secret California Eden. If you are looking for a community to really call "Home" rather than just live in a "House", SDCE/Ramona is that place. Just don't tell too many people about it please. :)
