Great place to live if you have lots of money... -
10/24/2008Its beautiful here, the mountain right behind you, and in fall its gorgeous. But the views are just about the only good thing, unless that is if you are wealthy. The cost of houses and land here is outrageous. The only place to shop is either at the local Safeway, or the factory outlet stores, which consist of Nike, Coach and other high priced retailers. Food and other necessities for life are extremly expensive, you have to commute all the way to Issaquah or Seattle if you want to find a Walmart or Target.
There is also absolutely nothing to do here, there is of course the falls, but once you have seen that once there really isn't a need to go back. With only one movie theater (meaning only one screen) that shows only on Sundays at 2 and 5pm you are stuck staying at home. Which would be all well and good if you could afford to travel an hour or so when ever you feel like being around civilization.
All in all it is a great town to stop at for a short time before you hit the pass or if you just want to get away for a day or so, but to live, you either need to be rich or in a coma to keep your sanity here.
