Perfect to raise a family -
6/10/2022Recently moved here from Texas and we’re loving it so far. It reminds us of old Georgetown, Tx, where we grew up. We love small, close knit towns and McAlester is just that. Great place to raise a family! I’m sure the natives would disagree but that’s true for any town/city. ??

Great town but turning blue… -
6/10/2022I grew up in old Georgetown (80’s kid here) and it was amazing. I left after high school (college) and lived near San Antonio for a couple years but always came back to Georgetown. It’s a great family oriented town, plenty of things to do for the kiddos and Austin is close enough to really enjoy the city activities. Last year however, my husband and I grew tired of the traffic and influx of CA implants. We’re conservative people but it’s definitely turning blue. (This website confirms it as well). So if you’re looking to move to Georgetown to get away from the city life and blue politics, I’d look elsewhere. Otherwise, beautiful town and friendly people but getting too expensive and too blue for our taste.
