12/9/2019OH God, can someone please say something nice about this place. I kind of have to move there or personal reasons....it's where I have a house and the only place I can afford to live. I have 2 masters Degrees (One in Psychology-I was a therapist and one in Human Development). I need to be able to meet people, engage in conversation with them and stay active. I need to meet others who are well traveled and who have emotional depth and awareness. Please tell me there is hope for me there.

12/9/2019 I am hoping someone will be able to counter your comments because i will be moving there in a few months (from the South Bay, by the beautiful beach) into a house, the only house I was able to afford on my budget. I don't want to get lost into a pool of nothingness, without anyone to discuss politics, world events, or anything else. I know education levels of most people there is very low, and political awareness is very low as well but I need something to hold onto IF I am going to make it for the next 5 years or so. FYI, I have been asked the same question by people who ask it wide-eyed in disbelief. You're going to leave the beach, they ask, WHY????
