12/29/2006Interesting to read the comments I have seen. My wife and I both grew up in the Q.C's and left after we were married. We now live in suburban Portland, Oregon and we are starting a business together. I agree that the opportunity for young people seems challenging, but if you choose to live here you owe it to your city to make a differance. I will say leaving this place changed my life for better and living in Oregon is awsome, but the Q.C's will always be home. If you do live in Moline make the best of and a differance.
The last thing I will write is dont be like a lot of people I have known in the past that do not enjoy Chicago. Visit it often, and experiance as much as you can. By the way, if you do not want to stay in the Q.C. area Chicago is not your only opportunity. We have lived many places before settling in Portland and let me tell you Chicago is not all that,
