New to Ashland -
8/13/2019 I'm new to Ashland and it's a step up from flood ravaged Louisiana! I love the weather we have here.
After our first year living in Ashland and having retired from the US Navy I was looking for a home high and dry and I found it and at the right price.
I have great neighbors with close relatives living in town.
The small town atmosphere is refreshing. Plenty of natural resources for an outdoorsman.
Sure there's room for improvement, higher speed limits on Rt 23, wider roads, lower taxes and improved business environment.
Note to the leaders of our Town. As the population has dropped steadily over the past 20 years you should recognize that local government is a big part of what is holding Ashland back from being a trend setting City. Suggestions on how to improve our City should be seen as our residents seeking change and improvement. At some point in the near future I will be posting ideas shared with me by residents who to date have kept their opinions to themselves.
Low serious crime rates high on my list. Lower drug and theft than National average, Some of the best weather in the nation. Just remember we can still stand for improvement.
