Fuquay-Varina, NC

10 homes and counting
- 5/13/2006
My husband and I moved here two years ago from another state in the south east. We have made many friends here and enjoy the small town feel. We also liked the quality of the homes here for the price. It is more of a "soccer mom" area which is perfect for our family. I like the entire triangle area. Lots to do. It is a melting pot. Fuquay Varina is more affordable than Cary but is a little further drive for the great shopping malls, movie theaters, etc. :). However, it is growing quickly so that could change in the next few years. For $300,000-400,000 you can purchase a new home with granite, hardwoods, stainless steel appliances, the works. There are other homes less than that too, that are nice! The largest downfall would be the overcrowded school system. Wake County is usually ranked in the top five school systems in the US. The county gets 9,000 new students every year and they can not build the schools fast enough. Lots of rezoning and talk of year round schools. That hasn't happened to us yet. No place you live is going to be perfect, that's just not realistic. We have been pleased overall and would move here again.
