Laredo, TX

Lacking in Quality. - 10/15/2007
There is no reason for anyone to move to Laredo, as much of its growth comes from the young Spanish population breeding and multiplying. English is spoken in Laredo but it’s Spanish that is understood. Trucking is the main business of Laredo since this town is situated at the terminus (end) of I35. Hotels are expensive because of the trucking culture and there really aren’t any tourist attractions. Crossing the border into Nuevo Laredo will bring you to a place of even less quality than Laredo on the American side of the Rio Bravo/Grande. This town is dirty and very hot most of the time but has a tiempo del frio (time of cold) maybe for a week or two late Dec-Jan. If you are not a trucker there is no reason whatsoever to come any further south than San Antonio on Hwy 35. Oh, I almost forgot to mention the Mexican Zeta gang that has cells operating in Laredo. They kill people. Laredo also has the usual annoying drunken bums sleeping under overpasses and begging on the corner. Lot’s of “growth”, construction to support the trucking and low paid support population. I have a service business and do well as who else would put up with this slimly sleazy low class no quality town. No English talk radio or decent real rock and roll station. I listen to CD’s a lot. Enough said, methinks but if you can’t take a hit and pass this way I’m the Anglo guy.
