re: If you must come, come prepared

12/4/2020Some of us lifelong residents don’t like the visitors who disrupt the beauty and peacefulness with trail bikes, jet skis, motorcycles, leave their litter after acting like fools for a few days in an area without law enforcement. There is a lot of sickness in our long time community and most of us respect their needs. Wild kids and young adults abuse our town and ignore traffic signs and rules and are a great pain in the wahoo. Some troublemakers move to town once they see what they can get away with. Ask the family who lost a life or most anyone over 50 about reckless behavior of visitors and disrespect of our town. Several residents have hospice care and are in final days. The noise and irresponsible behavior is very hard on them. If TVA or Sheriff would patrol better we would all benefit. Most of us are good neighbors and fine people who have no need of visitors bringing disruptions.

9/9/2020If you don’t fish or ski there is nothing to do in Waterloo. There is no diner, coffee shop, restaurant, grocery store, convenience store, dollar store, no store of any kind. A gas station with 2 pumps that often don’t work! No WiFi, cable, playground. No law. No Doctor or pharmacy. If you need anything it’s at least 25 miles on rural 2 lane roads to an area with fast food, groceries, etc
I was bored to tears for 4 long days most of which you won’t see more than 10 cars go by. Lucky them to be headed elsewhere.
