Nice, safe, affordable small town! -
3/3/2020I've lived in Sandusky for about 28 years now, and its a nice little town. If you want a place where you will be known by your neighbors, where people look out for each other, where you can afford to raise a family on a modest budget, look here. Sandusky has nice parks, good schools, and a small town atmosphere. You'll get to know the business owners by name, your kids can safely wander about town, and your kids will have lifelong friendships. Most everyone here is related to a farmer or works in agricultural support businesses, so the county fair is a big deal. Its not fancy, but its a nice, affordable, safe place to live. We keep looking for a version of this town in the south for becoming snowbirds in early retirement, but cannot find it.

3/3/2020Very sorry to hear that you are picking one person who lived about 20 miles away from Sandusky to base your views on. Sandusky is a quiet small town, peaceful place to live, and is a great place to raise a family. Our cost of living is low, crime is low, and we are 14 miles from Lake Huron beaches. Like most midwest towns, its a conservative place. People are very charitable and helpful and kind. Very much a modern day Mayberry!
